This week your children studied Unit 6 “The Zoo”.
New Vocabulary: Snake Giraffe Lion Zebra Monkey Elephant Tiger Bear. Kangaroo. Penguin
Sentence Patterns: It’s in the tree.
This week your children (Grade two) studied Unit 6 Lesson 2 “Room”. Describing things found in rooms.
New Vocabulary: Bedroom Bathroom Living room Kitchen Bed Bookshelf Table Sofa Clock Computer.
Sentence Patterns: There’s one bed in the bedroom.

词汇:蛇、长颈鹿、狮子、斑马、猴子、大象、老虎、熊、袋鼠、企鹅。
句子:在树上。
本周二年级的教学内容是“房间”。描述屋子里发现的东西。

Grade 1
Grade 1 continued with the topic “Zoo” vocabulary (Snake. Giraffe. Lion. Zebra) and the prepositions (In. on. Under) as well as plurals (Snakes. Giraffes. Lions. Zebras) and a new contraction (They’re)
Question: Where are the lions?Answer: They’re in the tree/under the tree/on the rock.
The contraction and plurals are a little difficult, so we will be constantly reviewing them over the course of next week and beyond.
They filled in their workbooks, but needed more supervision because of the complexity of the sentences.
Phonics (Short e) (Web. Egg. Vet. Ten)
一年级的教学内容主题是“动物园”。词汇:蛇、长颈鹿、狮子、斑马。介词:里面、上面、下面。复数形式(蛇、长颈鹿、狮子、斑马)。缩写形式(他们)。问题:狮子们在哪里?回答:它们在树上,它们在树下,它们在石头上。由于本周学习的句型复杂,所以学生在做练习册的时候需要更多的监督。语音课内容是短e(网、鸡蛋、兽医、十)。

Grade 2 moved on to rooms at home (Living room. Bedroom. Bathroom. Kitchen)
Using previous vocabulary to make more complex sentences.
Question: Is there a (noun) (preposition) the (noun)? Are there Two (noun+s) in the (room)?
The majority if students have mastered this very well, but I will review it again next week.
Workbooks were filled in and fewer errors were made.
二年级的教学内容是关于房间(客厅、卧室、浴室、厨房),并用所学词汇造句。句型:那里有一个(名词)(介词)在(名词)吗?那里有两个(名词复数)在(房间里)吗?大部分的学生都掌握的非常好,但是下周我会对这部分内容再复习一次。学生们做练习册时的错误越来越少了。

Dear Parents,
This week, your children practiced the vocabulary pertaining to household chores. You can check your child’s understanding by asking him or her a question such as “When do you take out the garbage?” (I take out the take garbage before/after school.) The Everybody Up! 3 course treats the lesson on chores as an opportunity to introduce the English simple present tense. I take out the garbage/he takes out the garbage after school. Next week, we will expand upon this week’s lesson by adding six new verb phrases and introduce adverbs of frequency: always, usually, sometimes, never. The children will learn to answer the question: What are your/his/her chores?
The third graders read The Bug Hunt in Good English 3B, the fourth graders read The Noah’s Ark adventure. You can, if your child brings his book home over the weekend, help him to practice by asking him to read aloud to you from the story that his class read. Ambitious students might even try summarizing the story in their own words without referring to the text. Please keep in mind that summarizing and reciting are different things. While recitation does have its place, summarizing is a much better indicator of actual English ability. Next week, the third grade classes will read Mister Haggis while the fourth graders will read Scarecrows. Enjoy your weekend.

三年级学习了典范英语的捕虫人,四年级学习了诺亚的冒险。周末你们可以帮助孩子练习读故事。有能力的学生也可以试着用自己的语言去复述这个故事。复述和背诵是不同的。背诵课文也很重要,但是复述故事可以更好的提升英语能力。下周,三年级会学习哈吉斯先生,四年级会学习稻草人。周末愉快

Dear Parents,
This week Grade 3and CSL children continued learning about chores. We talked about how children can help their parents at home. We moved on and discuss harder chores such as, washing the car, doing laundry etc. We read a story titled “Poor old mom” - Good English. We also had a lesson on phonics, the students learned about the long -ie. They built words with long ie and constructed their own sentences.
Grade five learned about occupations. They learned vocabulary that is occupations related. We discussed what people in those occupations do every day. They also learned about the long “a” sound.
Vocabulary: cashier, librarian, vet, server, postal worker

本周汉培和三年级的教学内容是做家务,孩子们在家里如何帮助父母作家务。例如:洗车、洗衣服。典范英语阅读的故事是“贫穷的妈妈”。语音课学习的是“ie”,并造词造句。

We are still moving forward in OD. Units 11 and 12 are almost complete. And, as always, we have read another story in GE.
Grades 4 and 5 read, drew, labeled, and completed a worksheet on a flying frog.
Grade 6 is in the middle of a long unit on law and punishment.
