Working with the Sydney’s largest and most ambitious rolling stock project the SGT Fleet (Sydney Growth Trains), this opportunity for an experienced ICT Engineer will be to provide expertise in the design and testing of hardware and software specific to ITS like CCTV from our manufacturing partner in china. Your role will be to understand, adapt and integrate and test our systems ensuring that the meet the functional and practical standards of the project, ensuring that the system is to the quality Downer and our clients expect as a functional system.

Working in our North Ryde head project office with heavy interaction with our manufacturing site (Auburn) and our partner site in China, you will liaise heavily with internal and external stakeholders around product specification and suitability for Downer’s use.

Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or Computer), or related

Excellent computer skills, with program knowledge of Python, Shell Scripting, C/Java, Linux and IPv4IP

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally hands on knowledge of CCTV in a public space, infrastructure or surveillance environment.

Prior experience with software development and formal standards equivalent to EIA—632, MIL-STD-498, EN50128

Engineering design knowledge, with skills in agile, lean, and six sigma methodology.

Experience in CCTV, Rollingstock. Texas instruments, LabView or IBM DOORS highly advantageous.

Strong communication written and verbal with Cantonese or Mandarin language skills
