薛佳博士毕业于美国宾夕法尼亚大学社会政策与实践学院（社会福利博士）和沃顿商学院（统计学硕士）。2016-2018年获得哈佛大学肯尼迪政府学院pre-doc fellowship。其主要研究领域为家庭暴力，性骚扰，性侵害，强奸迷思，社交网络，大数据。在Journal of Interpersonal Violence; Child Abuse & Neglect; British Journal of Social Work; American Journal of Public Health 等SSCI 期刊上发表多篇文章。

Abstract: At a time when there is an ongoing public discussion about the responsible use of big data, Jia has established the Big Data for Social Justice Lab, which aims to inspire students to reflect on how big data can be used to promote social justice in innovative ways, and in particular in the fields of intimate and sexual violence. The lecture aims to review the current state of research of using big data in intimate violence and sexual assault and briefly discusses PI’s studies as examples. It also discusses available positions in the lab at the UofT, including research assistants, visiting scholars, and postdoc.
