Millions of A$50 banknotes in Australia have an embarrassing typographical error that was overlooked by the country’s central bank before they were printed and circulated.

The goof first became known on Thursday when a listener on radio outlet Triple M sent the station a magnified photo of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) new A$50 note highlighting the word “responsibility” misspelt as “responsibilty” three times.

The A$50 currency is the most widely circulated in Australia and accounts for nearly half the total value of other banknotes in use, according to the RBA.

But for now, around 46 million of the new notes are in use across the country.

The note came into circulation on Oct. 18, 2018 with new security features designed to deter counterfeiting and with tactile elements for the visually impaired.
澳大利亚储备银行2018年10月18日正式发行新版50澳元纸币，新版纸币具有新的安全特征，以防止伪造，还有为视觉障碍人士准备的触摸特性。

But it has no intention of withdrawing or recalling the notes from circulation. The error will be corrected in the next print run, the RBA said.
但澳大利亚储备银行表示，无意收回或召回这些纸币。下次印刷将更正这一错误。
An RBA spokeswoman said in an emailed statement to Reuters the Bank “is aware of it and the spelling will be corrected at the next print run.”

"This does not affect the legal tender status of the banknotes. We have reviewed our processes to remove the likelihood of such an error occurring in the future," an RBA spokeswoman said.

It sports a head-shot of Edith Cowan, who served as the first woman elected to an Australian legislature from 1921 to 1924.

The Bank said in its latest annual report its note printing subsidiary delivered 227 million Australian banknotes in 2017/18, including around 184 million new series A$50 banknotes.

At Facebook’s developer conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the social media company is shifting focus from the digital town square to a more private place. In addition to the digital town square, we also need a digital equivalent of the living room that is just as built out as a platform with all of the different ways that we want to interact privately with messaging and small groups and sharing where the content doesn’t stick around forever, simple and secure payments, private ways to share your location, and over time lots of more different ways to interact privately. With more than 1 billion users, Facebook has come under fire worldwide for how it’s handled user data and how it monitors extreme views on its site. Zuckerberg told conference goers, Facebook is changing to focus on private messaging, a rapidly growing area as well as encrypting Instagram and Messenger to its main services. So the communication can’t be seen by others, even by Facebook.All type of technology, there has to be some kind of evolvement, and then I believe that there can be security measures that can be put in place. I think that technology can be used for good. The part of the incubation is very important for us, because, for example, we want to provide some communication, private communication with our final users in order to provide information about our products, for example, pricing or details or something like that.

With Facebook, people talk about the negative, but for me, as a social worker, I work with nonprofits. A lot of nonprofits have no access to technology that allow them to do the job that they need to do, especially reach up to clients and have this community process.
And with Facebook allows these nonprofits to engage without the need to expense their monies which they don’t have in the first place to engage with the clients. Zuckerberg says he wants Facebook to be a force for good in the world, a place where users can move easily from the town center to a living room, to a space where interest groups can meet. Not just the big moments or the social movements, the breakthroughs, but also all the everyday good of the emotional support, that the jokes with friends, that the feeling of being together with your family, both in private and in public, the living room and our town squares. Still unclear is whether Facebook’s changes will resonate with users, and help the company sidestep controversy in the future.

很多人在提到脸书的时候会有负面的评论，但对我而言，我是一名社交媒体的工作者，我是本着非营利的态度来做的。很多非盈利机构都不具备相应的技术，在目标面前心有余而力不足，尤其是在接触客户方面和社群流程方面。
现在脸书能让这些非营利组织来实现目标，同时又不用自掏腰包。这些技术是他们无法提供给用户的。扎克伯格表示，自己希望脸书能成为世界上一股向善的力量，让其用户可以便捷地从数字“城市广场”转移到起居室，也可以去往利益相关方集中的地方。这不仅对社交媒体的进步是重大时刻和重大突破，对于每天的受益也有情感上的支持，这种受益可以体现在与朋友谈笑风生，与家人共聚一堂，无论是在私人空间还是公共场合、起居室还是数字“城市广场”都能做到。目前尚不明朗的是脸书的变革是否能引起用户的共鸣，以及是否能帮助脸书规避未来的争议出现。
