音乐会介绍

“Suite!” … one more concert. After the “Suite for Cello solo” now the next “Suite” of Johann Sebastian Bach: Works for Piano! So we can get more and more into the world of the “founder of the western music”. Other concerts to explore this genius will follow in this concert series “Bach-Suite!”. We will hear Michael Tan playing an extraordinarily touching version of Partitas and Suites, composed by Bach. Let us have a look at the “hidden numbers and systems” behind Bach’s music; let us explore the meaning and naming of the “French, German and English Suites”; let us get closer to Bach‘s intention … and most importantly enjoy this unique music!

 

又一场有关“组曲”的音乐会!继“大提琴独奏组曲”之后,另一场有关约翰·塞巴斯蒂安·巴赫“组曲”的音乐会即将到来:此次将呈现为钢琴而作的作品!如此,我们便可以一步步深入这位“西方音乐创始人”的音乐世界。其他探索这一天才的音乐会将在“巴赫组曲”系列音乐会中持续跟进。5月15日,这些由巴赫谱写的帕蒂塔和组曲将在谈晨的演奏下变得异乎寻常地动听。让我们来一起看看“隐藏其后的数字和系统”,让我们一起探寻“法国、德国和英国组曲”这一系列命名的含义,让我们与巴赫的意旨更加靠近……同时最重要的是,享受这独一无二的音乐!

PIANIST MICHAEL TAN

钢琴家 谈晨


谈晨(Michael Tan)于1975年2月11日生于中国上海。四岁开始学习钢琴,就读于上海音乐学院附小、附中,师从圣建颐教授和杨晏如教授。1990 年,谈晨来到美国,在旧金山音乐学院院长、杰出的音乐教育家索尔金(Milton Salkind) 先生的亲自指导下得窥西方音乐的堂奥,之后在茱莉亚音乐学院(The Juilliard School)攻读钢琴和作曲两个专业。钢琴方面师从著名钢琴家斯代森(Herbert Stessin),作曲方面师从两位当代作曲大师德尔•特雷蒂其(David Del Tredici)和阿德勒(Samuel Adler)。

 

谈晨曾先后在旧金山青年艺术家比赛、Santa Barbara 全美青年钢琴大赛、国立艺术基金全美青年艺术选拔赛、科尔堡室内乐大赛和巴豪尔国际钢琴比赛等重大比赛中获奖。这些年来,他活跃在美国和世界的舞台上,曾在诸如纽约林肯中心、华盛顿肯尼迪中心、旧金山赫普斯特剧院等著名音乐厅里以协奏、独奏、室内乐等多种形式为音乐爱好者和专业人士们一次次展示出他对各类经典作品的独到阐释,并赢得了包括华尔街时报、华盛顿邮报、旧金山日报等权威乐评的高度赞美。

 

谈晨不仅是一位杰出的钢琴演奏家,而且一向致力于音乐教学。他曾在旧金山音乐学院和著名的伊斯特曼音乐学院(The Eastman School of Music)任职,从事钢琴教学、声乐指导和室内乐辅导等多种工作。在演奏和教学之余,谈晨还经常举办多种音乐讲座,既有对艰深的音乐文化史的专题探讨,也有为普及古典音乐而开设的深入浅出的音乐欣赏。

 

2013年,谈晨回到中国。为了深化、提升中国听众对西方古典音乐文化内涵的理解,谈晨在北京大学举办了系列讲座音乐会《德奥音乐与英语诗歌》,获得了各界文化人士的广泛关注和好评。他坚信,一门鲜活的艺术一定能够兼容精英和大众的需求,在一代人与另一代人之间燃起共同的激情。

 


Michael Tan was born in 1975 in Shanghai, China. He began studying piano at the age of four and attended the Primary School and Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 1990 he emigrated to the United States and continued his study with Milton Salkind, then president of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In 1998 he graduated from the Juilliard School, where he studied piano with Herbert Stessin and composition with Samuel Adler and David Del Tredici.

 

Tan has won many competitions, including the Santa Barbara Symphony Young Artists Piano Competition in 1990, the San Francisco Young Pianists Competition in 1991. In 1993 he received a Level-1 award in the Arts Recognition and Talent Search of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and in the same year Kohl Mansion Chamber Music Competition. In 1996 he was a winner in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Over the past twenty-five years, he has performed extensively throughout the United States and Asia both as a soloist and a collaborative artist, and has received enthusiastic critical acclaims from the  Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and the San Francisco Chronicles, among others.    

 

From 1998 to 2008 Tan served as staff pianist and chamber music coach first at the San Francisco Conservatory, and then at the Eastman School of Music. Since 2013 he has been residing in China, teaching privately and giving lectures and master classes at the China Conservatory of Music, focusing especially on conveying the cultural and spiritual contexts of Western classical music to the Chinese students. To that purpose, he has also created an ongoing lecture concert series at the Peking University, exploring the fascinating relations between Austro-German music and English poetry.
