每年5月的最后一个星期一是美国阵亡将士纪念日（Memorial Day，原名纪念日，或悼念日），悼念在各战争中阵亡的美军官兵。全国悼念时间于华盛顿时间下午3时开始。

阵亡将士纪念日是美国人展现爱国情操的一个重要节日，美国所有城市都在5月的最后一个周一举行仪式向为国捐躯的人们致敬。纪念日不仅限于向军队中的美国人致敬，它也是一个思念的节日，是家庭和个人怀念他们逝去的亲人和朋友的追思日。

波士顿公园每年都会在士兵和水手纪念碑前的草坪上插满国旗，今年的纪念日是5月28日，从23日周三下午1点开始，山坡上会插上3万7千面国旗，每一面国旗代表一位在战争中逝去的麻州将士，场面之壮观，让人难以忘怀，让人想记录并传播对烈士的崇敬之意，向烈士致敬，愿爱心传扬！国旗会保留至5月28日下午6点，大家可以在这期间去一睹其壮观场面并缅怀逝去的烈士！

Memorial Day honors those who died in wars defending our country and our freedom.

Every year, the Massachusetts Military Heroes organization plants a Garden of Flags - 37,000 of them - in front of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Boston Common to commemorate each of the Massachusetts service members who have given their lives to defend the United States and our freedom since the Revolutionary War.

Flags will be put in place on Wednesday, May 23 starting at 1pm and will remain through sundown on Monday, May 28. A name-reading ceremony to honor Massachusetts service members killed since 9/11/2001 will be held in front of the flag display on the Common on Thursday, May 24 at 10:30am. (Time to be confirmed for 2018)

婚纱遇上国旗！

2018 also marks the 72nd Annual Memorial Day services to be held on Saturday, May 26, 11am (time to be confirmed) at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Back Bay Fens in Boston~q~s Fenway neighborhood. Veterans Memorial Park (sometimes called the Sergeant Charles Andrew MacGillivary Memorial to honor a local hero), a tranquil green area with monuments commemorating those who fought in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, can be found near the Kelleher Rose Gardens.

Additionally, Honor & Tribute: Memorial Day Concert will be held at 6:30pm (time to be confirmed for 2018) on Monday, May 28 at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End and will feature the Metropolitan Wind Symphony Orchestra. The concert is free, and is sponsored by the City of Boston Veterans~q~ Services.
