Easter is one of the most important celebrations in the Christian calendar. It promises new hope and new aspirations. Easter is a time when millions of Christians across the world gather to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus – a refugee whose parents were forced to flee their home because of a campaign of terror by a dictator, King Herod.

复活节，是基督教重大事件中最重要的庆祝活动之一。复活节，给了我们新的希望和愿望。复活节，是全球数百万基督徒们聚在一起庆祝耶稣的受难及复活的日子。耶稣是一个难民，他的父母曾因为独裁者希律王的恐怖活动而被迫流离失所。

Jesus went on to know what it was to be ostracized, rejected and tortured. A family forced to flee their homeland for fear of persecution.

耶稣继而知道了什么是排斥、拒绝和折磨。一家人因害怕受到迫害，而被迫逃离家园。

Sadly, this is still so familiar to us today. There are 68 million refugees across the world, more people than ever before have been forced to flee persecution, war, and abject poverty.

悲哀的是，我们今天仍然很熟悉这一点。全世界有6800万难民，因迫害、战争及贫困潦倒的而被迫流离失所的人数比以往的任何时候都要多得多。

The refugee crisis is a moral test. Jesus taught us to respect refugees. He himself said “welcome the stranger”.

In Britain, we have a proud history of providing a safe refuge to those in need, but this government refuses to meet our legal obligations to child refugees in Europe, as required by the Dubs Amendment.

在英国，我们曾经有一段为需要帮助的人提供安全庇护的光荣历史。但是，特蕾莎-梅政府拒绝履行据《杜布斯修正案》的要求我们对在欧洲儿童难民问题上的法律义务。

At the end of last year, as refugees tried to cross the Channel, Sajid Javid threatened to deploy the Navy. But in response, the Bishop of Dover said, “it is crucial that we all remember we’re dealing with human beings here”.

Churches across the country support refugees, including through community sponsorship programs, and they are campaigning to allow asylum seekers to work sooner. This is true leadership, drawing on Jesus’s teachings to show us how we should approach this great moral test.

So, at this time of new hope and of new aspirations, we can learn from Christian values and offer the hand of friendship to welcome those in need.
