Job Description 

A post-doctoral position is available in the lab of Sona Kang at the Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at UC Berkeley (https://nst.berkeley.edu/users/sona-kang). Our research program focuses on the transcriptional and epigenetic basis of metabolic dysregulations, in particular, obesity and type 2 diabetes. We seek to identify the core epigenetic transcriptional mechanisms underlying these disease conditions, validating physiological significance, and to develop therapeutic interventions. We apply multiple traditional wet lab techniques and global profiling approaches in vitro and in vivo.

We are looking for self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative applicant who can efficiently work in a fast-paced environment. High level of independence and the ability to think critically are expected. PhD candidates with soon expected graduation are highly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should have an expertise in one of the following areas: molecular and cell biology, metabolic phenotyping of mouse models, and global profiling studies. The successful candidate will lead project(s) requiring technical expertise such as metabolic characterization of mouse models, cell culture studies, and/or biochemical studies.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on UC Berkeley Postdoc salary scale. The annual salary range for this position is $43,692 to $51,120. Generous benefits are included (http://vspa.berkeley.edu/postdocs).

Job Description 

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual to study mechanisms and therapy of vascular and neuronal disease processes in the retina, including neuroinflammation, angiogenesis, neurodegeneration, and neurovascular cross-talk.  Research will include mouse models of retinal vascular disease, including diabetic retinopathy.  

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to develop and drive his/her research project, as well as work in a team-based environment.  Candidates should have a PhD degree in the biological sciences or biomedical research.  Candidates with a strong background in biochemical, molecular, and/or cell biology are encouraged to apply.

Job Description 

At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine the Center for Therapeutic Innovation has built a team of drug discovery and development experts who are engaged in areas of human therapy discovery.

The ideal applicant will have a unique skill set and a deep understanding of disease related biological systems that complements the skills already present within the Center and that can be applied to the discovery of novel treatments for disease. Examples may be neuroscience, cancer or rare genetic disorders, among many other therapeutic areas.

Applicants should have a doctorate and a strong background in contemporary biology and/or medicine. Pharmacology, disease physiology, drug screening, target identification, and animal disease modeling are among the desired skill sets. Experience from the pharma/biotech is also an asset, as is the ability to work independently and to lead teams of researchers. The applicant should have strong writing skills and be ready to contribute to both publications and the grant seeking process.
