据报道，BC省将新增35个十字路口测速摄像头。其中大温就占了31个。

不同于以往，这次新增的测速装备。一天24小时全天运转，一年365天无休。

据统计，卑诗省每天约发生900起交通事故，其中超过一半以上的事故。事发地在十字路口。而事故多发原因就是超速。

魁省和沙省早先实行了在十字路口新增摄像头后，交通事故发生率明显下降，在路口超速行驶的现象也有所好转。

BC省府表示新增的35个路口测速监控只是一个开始，在前期调研中，一共对140个路口进行了研究。如果效果显著，下一步计划就是全省普及。
